Director of the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center (NEISBDC)
The Division of Continuing Studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is accepting applications for the director of the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center. The focus of this position is to plan, direct, assess and report the NEISBDC activities promoting economic growth through entrepreneurship and small business development in the region. Responsibilities include managing the center staff, budgets, procedures and policies; ensuring compliance with state, federal and university regulations and guidelines; and developing ways to connect the center to the region’s higher education institutions as program and service partners.
A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required with a minimum of 3 years experience in promoting small business development and providing services for new business formation. Preference will be given to those who have a Master’s Degree in Business or related field and/or have successfully run or operated a small business.
Candidates must have strong leadership and public/interpersonal communication skills; be computer literate; able to manage a budget, hire and supervise staff; be self-motivated and able to travel a nine-county region within the state of Indiana. A criminal conviction record check is required for employment in this position.
