Moore Gospel Magazine
Moore Gospel Magazine, a nationally-distributed Christian lifestyle magazine, is the brainchild of publisher DeShawn Moore. The much anticipated premiere issue launched with a gala celebration featuring gospel recording artist Vickie Winans on November 19th at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Avenue.
“Moore Gospel Magazine is a refreshing, innovative, entertaining and uplifting bi-monthly publication,” says DeShawn Moore. “It highlights Fort Wayne’s faith-based community which encompasses churches, ministries, non-profit organizations, independent music artists, musicians, youth and much more.”
Moore, a former fashion model, radio announcer and television journalist, is a graduate of Taylor University where she earned her Bachelors degree in Journalism. Her experience includes working as a publicist in the gospel music industry.
“I worked with and around numerous gospel artist and events,” Moore explains. “As a former fashion model, my first major gig was The Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
Moore plans to distribute the new magazine locally and nationally. Here in Fort Wayne, the magazine will be available at The Anchor Room, Family Christian Book Stores and other retail outlets.
“About three years ago, God laid the City of Fort Wayne on my heart. I began to think about all the ministries, churches, talented musicians and music artist who were using all they had for God,” Moore says. “My Goal is to expose Fort Wayne to all that is Gospel and keep them in the know, as well as expose the world to all the talent and gifts that are in this city.”
Moore Gospel Magazine will offer the latest news in the gospel industry including exclusive interviews with regional and national artists. The publication will also offer features on hair, fashion and beauty, fitness and nutrition, news and politics.
“The faith-based community is really excited about having another outlet that reflects what the faith-based community all about,” Moore told INK. “The debut of Moore Gospel Magazine proved that Fort Wayne is in full support of what MGM is doing to provide a platform that deals with specific issues and accomplishments that our community can relate to.”
“There is a stereotype that has been implanted in some of the hearts and minds of Fort Wayne residents that says, ‘If you are from Fort Wayne (or a small unknown city), you can’t make it.’ God’s ways are higher than our ways, and if He wants to use MGM to expose artists, ministries, musicians, pastors, children and others to a world in need of encouragement, hope and a higher power, so be it!”
