Easter Seals client Ieasha Thomas is Miss June in 2010 Arc of Indiana calendar

Ieasha Thomas, a client of Easter Seals Arc, is featured as Miss June in the 2010 calendar of The Arc of Indiana, a statewide organization, in which Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana serves as the Fort Wayne affiliate, that advocates for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana’s mission is to create solutions that change lives of children and adults with disabilities or other special needs and their families.  We provide a wide range of excellent services that nurture independence based on each individual’s goals and choices while providing advocacy and promoting community inclusion.

The Arc of Indiana’s 2010 calendar features people with intellectual and other disabilities in their places of employment throughout Indiana.  A goal of the calendar is to share that people with a wide range of disabilities can find meaningful employment, and contribute back to their communities, with the support of agencies like Easter Seals Arc.  Calendars can be purchased online for $5.00 per calendar, plus shipping.  To order, click here.

With the help and support of Easter Seals Arc and the Support Services Medicaid Waiver, Ieasha Thomas has worked at O’Charley’s Restaurant in Fort Wayne since May 2002.  In October 2008 the downturn in the economy threatened Ieasha’s job.  However, with the support of her Easter Seals Arc job coach, and the commitment of her manager to keep her employed, Ieasha received job training to take on more tasks at O’Charley’s.

Today Ieasha enjoys her work preparing food, preparing table settings and cleaning tables and booths.  Ieasha’s remains just as dedicated to her job and her work ethic as she was when she started, almost 8 years ago.
